16. OPTIMISATION OF THE UAV-BASED PHOTOGRAMMETRIC DATA COLLECTION PROCESS IN DOCUMENTATION OF LINEAR OBJECTS OF SUBSTANTIAL HEIGHT DIFFERENCES
The article discusses the topic of planning and conducting Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) flights in order to document linear objects characterised by substantial height differences. The influence of two factors (flight parameters, configuration of photogrammetric control network) was studied on the accuracy of generated photogrammetric products. During the research UAV-based photogrammetric data was obtained concerning pedestrian paths situated in a hilly area. To this end, three UAV flights were conducted which differed in parameters. Four different versions of ground control points (GCPs) distribution were also used. Twelve data sets were prepared in total. On the basis of a few dozen check points the accuracy of orthophotomaps and Digital Surface Models (DSMs) was assessed. This resulted in setting the parameters of a photogrammetric mission conducted by UAV over the area of substantial height differences. What is more, it was also defined which configuration of control points gives satisfying results without influencing the accuracy of the generated products.
