42. THE USE OF RFID AND GPS TECHNOLOGY TO MANAGE THE INSPECTION OF ELEMENTS OF TECHNICAL STRUCTURES
The aim of the article is to present the possibilities offered by the combination of Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) and Global Positioning System (GPS) and Dempster–Shafer theory in conducting periodic review of technical structures elements. A combination of this systems with theory of belief functions (evidence theory) can provide new quality in implementing supervision over elements of technical structures. Reliable confirmation of the performance of the verification of the safety status of the technical structure element is of key importance from the point of view of public safety. In order to aggregate information from both sources, the approach based on Dempster-Shafer Theory is proposed.
